I am also busy off-line with my photo collection right now...
After a bit of shopping on eBay I now have three boxes with 173 „Paximat® Compact” slide magazines standing here, so that I can re-fill my remaining slide collection (much decimated by the move to Australia), thus significantly reducing it in volume.
Then I’ll have to mount about 130 films, and re-mount probably a couple of thousand slides. The problem is that the common slide mounts crop more off the edges than the finder of my camera, which is why I had been puzzled (and annoyed) about missing bits for quite some time. The follow-up problem is that full-frame mounts (Gepe 7038) have not been sold much at all, meaning they are not often offered on eBay and, to make matters worse, according to Gepe are not being produced anymore, either. One thousand-pack I had bought a few years ago and another one I just secured from Switzerland. The search continues!
Finally, I want to scan the whole lot, to have the images accessible on the computer. The Reflecta Digitdia 6000 looks like it was made for that job. In Germany, it is available for rent on a weekly basis, but not in Australia; so this will probably lead to an eBay import as well. As soon as I have found one at an affordable price, as unfortunately they’re not exactly cheap.
So there’s definitely enough to do for long winter evenings!
